2.2. Performing Chest Compressions

The manikin is designed to provide a human-like feel for chest compressions. The QCPR app will indicate if your compressions meet the recommended rate and depth.

  • Hand Placement: Ensure correct hand placement on the infant's chest as per CPR guidelines.
  • Compression Depth: Aim for the recommended compression depth for infants. The manikin's sensors and app will provide feedback.
  • Compression Rate: Maintain the recommended compression rate.
  • Full Release: Allow for full chest recoil after each compression.

2.3. Performing Ventilations

The manikin's airway is designed to simulate a real infant's, closing if the neck is hyperextended or underextended. Visible chest rise indicates successful ventilation.

  • Airway Management: Position the manikin's head to open the airway correctly.
  • Ventilation Technique: Deliver ventilations appropriate for an infant. Observe for visible chest rise.
  • Nzaghachi: The QCPR app provides feedback on ventilation rate and volume.
