The MOTOPOWER MP69040 scanner does not require batteries for operation as it draws power directly from your vehicle's OBD-II port.

Once connected and powered on, the scanner will display the main menu. Use the UP/DOWN arrow buttons to navigate and the ENTER button to select an option.

6.1. Gụọ Koodu
This function retrieves Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the vehicle's computer. These codes indicate specific issues detected by the vehicle's self-diagnostic system.
- From the main menu, select "Read Codes" or press the dedicated DTC bọtịnụ.
- The scanner will display any stored, pending, or permanent codes.
- Use the UP/DOWN arrows to scroll through the codes and their descriptions.
6.2. Hichapụ Koodu
This function clears all DTCs and turns off the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), also known as the Check Engine Light. Ịdọ aka ná ntị: Clearing codes without addressing the underlying issue will likely result in the codes reappearing.
- From the main menu, select "Erase Codes".

6.4. I/M Njikere
This function checks the status of the vehicle's emission-related monitoring systems to determine if they are ready for an emissions test (smog check).
- From the main menu, select "I/M Readiness" or press the dedicated I/M bọtịnụ.
- The scanner will display the status of various monitors (e.g., Misfire Monitor, Fuel System Monitor, O2 Sensor Monitor) as either "OK" (complete) or "INC" (incomplete).

When an emission-related fault occurs, the vehicle's computer stores a snapshot of operating conditions at the time of the fault. This data is called Freeze Frame Data.
- From the main menu, select "Freeze Frame".
- Review the recorded parameters to understand the conditions under which the fault occurred.
6.6. Vehicle Information (VIN)
This function retrieves the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Calibration ID (CALID), and Calibration Verification Number (CVN) of the vehicle.
- From the main menu, select "VIN" or "Vehicle Info".
- The scanner will display the requested vehicle information.

This function allows retrieval and viewing of O2 sensor monitor test results for the most recently completed tests from the vehicle's onboard computer.

- Connect the MP69040 scanner to your computer using the provided USB Type-C cable.
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the update software to complete the update process.
