Carefully remove the smoke alarm from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage. The package should contain the smoke alarm unit, a mounting bracket, and screws with drywall anchors.

3.4 Mounting the Alarm

Attach the mounting bracket to a wall or ceiling using the provided screws and drywall anchors. Once the bracket is securely installed, align the smoke alarm with the bracket and twist clockwise until it locks into place. Ensure the alarm is firmly attached to prevent accidental dislodgement.

4.1 Testing the Alarm

After installation, and at least once a week, test your smoke alarm by pressing and holding the Test/Silence button. The alarm will emit a loud, piercing sound (approximately 85 dB) to indicate it is functioning correctly. The LED indicator will also flash during the test. Release the button to stop the test.

4.2 Silence Feature

In case of a nuisance alarm (e.g., from cooking smoke), press the Test/Silence button to temporarily mute the alarm for approximately 8 minutes. The alarm will automatically reset after this period to ensure continuous protection. If the smoke condition persists, the alarm will reactivate.

After 10 years from the date of manufacture, the alarm will provide an end-of-life warning (two chirps and two LED flashes every 60 seconds). When this occurs, the entire unit must be replaced to maintain fire safety protection.
