  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, sturdy footwear, and hearing protection.
  • Keep hands and feet away from rotating parts. The blade continues to rotate for a short period after the engine is switched off.

  1. Ensure the fuel tank is filled and engine oil is at the correct level.

  5. Once the engine starts, gradually move the throttle lever to the 'RUN' position.

  • Ensure the engine is off and the blade has stopped rotating.
  • Locate the height adjustment levers, typically near the wheels.
  • Move the levers to the desired cutting height setting. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height.

  • The mower will begin to move forward. Release the lever to disengage self-propulsion.

3.4 Emptying the Grass Bag

Regularly check and empty the grass collection bag to maintain optimal cutting performance.

  • Stop the engine and wait for the blade to stop completely.
  • Lift the rear discharge flap and carefully remove the grass bag.
  • Empty the grass clippings into a suitable container.
  • Reattach the grass bag securely.

To stop the engine, release the engine brake lever (usually located on the handle). The engine will shut off automatically.
