2. Ntuziaka nchekwa
Operating power tools requires careful attention to safety to prevent injury. Always follow these guidelines:
- Ngwa nchekwa nkeonwe (PPE): Always wear appropriate safety gear, including safety glasses, hearing protection, heavy-duty gloves, and sturdy footwear. Long pants and sleeves are recommended.
- Ijikwa mmanụ ụgbọala: The EB2000 uses a 2-stroke petrol engine. Handle fuel (petrol and 2-stroke oil mixture) with extreme care. Mix fuel in a well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources. Do not smoke while refueling.
- Mpaghara ọrụ: Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders, especially children and pets. Check for underground cables, pipes, or other obstructions before drilling.
- Ọrụ: The earth auger is designed for two-person operation to maintain control and stability. Never operate the auger alone. Maintain a firm grip on both handles.
- Nchekwa igwe: Never operate the engine indoors or in poorly ventilated areas due to carbon monoxide fumes. Allow the engine to cool before refueling or performing maintenance.
- Mgbochi azụ azụ: Be prepared for sudden kickback if the auger bit strikes a hard object or gets jammed. Release the throttle immediately.
- Nlekọta: Disconnect the spark plug wire before performing any maintenance or cleaning to prevent accidental starting.

- Tinye aka: Securely fasten the operating handles to the main frame using the provided bolts and nuts. Ensure they are tightened properly.
- Connect Auger Bit: Select the desired auger bit (100mm, 150mm, or 200mm). Align the auger bit shaft with the output shaft of the power head. Insert the retaining pin through the aligned holes and secure it with the R-clip or cotter pin. Ensure the bit is firmly attached.

4.2 Fuel Mixing
The EB2000 is powered by a 2-stroke engine and requires a specific fuel mixture. Refer to the engine's label or manual for the exact ratio, typically 1:40 (2.5% oil) or 1:50 (2% oil) petrol to 2-stroke engine oil. Use fresh, unleaded petrol with an octane rating of 90 RON or higher and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil designed for air-cooled engines.
- Mix the fuel in a separate, approved fuel container.
- Pour the correct amount of 2-stroke oil into the container, then add the petrol.
- Shake the container gently to ensure thorough mixing.
- Fill the auger's fuel tank carefully, avoiding spills. Do not overfill.

5.1 Malite Engine
- Place the auger on a flat, stable surface.
- Ensure the ignition switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Set the choke lever to the 'CLOSED' (cold start) position.
- Pịa bọlbụ primer ugboro ugboro ruo mgbe mmanụ ga-apụta ìhè n'ahịrị nloghachi.
- Pull the starter cord firmly and smoothly until the engine attempts to start (usually 1-3 pulls).
- Once the engine 'pops' or briefly starts, move the choke lever to the 'OPEN' position.
- Dọgharịa eriri mmalite ahụ ọzọ ruo mgbe injin ahụ malitere ma rụọ ọrụ nke ọma.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments before engaging the throttle.
5.2 Drilling Technique

Figure 3: Proper two-person operation of the earth auger for stability and control.
- Always operate the auger with two people, each holding a handle firmly.
- Position the auger bit over the desired drilling location.
- Slowly increase the throttle to engage the auger bit.
- Apply steady, downward pressure as the auger drills into the soil. Avoid excessive force.
- Periodically lift the auger slightly to clear loose soil from the hole and prevent jamming.
- If the auger jams, immediately release the throttle and turn off the engine. Carefully remove the auger from the hole.
5.3 Ịkwụsị Engine
To stop the engine, simply move the ignition switch to the 'OFF' position.
6. Nlekọta
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your earth auger.
- Nhicha: After each use, clean the auger bit and power head of dirt and debris. Use a damp cloth for the engine housing.
- Ihe nzacha ikuku: Check and clean the air filter regularly, especially in dusty conditions. A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance.
- Nkwụnye Spark: Inspect the spark plug periodically. Clean or replace it if it is fouled or worn.
- Sistemụ mmanụ ụgbọala: Maka nchekwa ogologo oge (ihe karịrị ụbọchị iri atọ), wụsa tankị mmanụ ụgbọala ahụ ma gbanye injin ahụ ruo mgbe ọ kwụsịrị iji wepụ mmanụ ụgbọala ahụ. Nke a na-egbochi ire ere mmanụ ụgbọala na ịchafụ.
