Adhering to these safety guidelines is crucial for preventing accidents and ensuring the longevity of your heater:
- Always ensure the AQQA heater is fully submersible when it is on. Operating it partially submerged or exposed to air can cause damage and trigger safety features.
- Before performing any maintenance, water changes, or cleaning the fish tank, always unplug the heater and wait at least 15 minutes for it to cool down. This prevents burns and ensures safety.
- Do not bury the heating rod in sand or mud. Ensure adequate water circulation around the heater for optimal performance and safety.
- Do not use alcohol or other chemical cleaners on the heater. Use only clean water for maintenance.
- Always create a ntapu loop for the power cord to prevent water from traveling along the cord and into the electrical outlet.
