  3. Effects Loops (LOOP 1 & LOOP 2): Each loop consists of a 'SEND' and a 'RETURN' jack.
    • Connect the 'SEND 1' or 'SEND 2' jack to the input of the effect pedal(s) you wish to place in that loop.
    • Connect the output of the last effect pedal in the loop back to the corresponding 'RETURN 1' or 'RETURN 2' jack.
  4. Jack dị anya: This jack is for connecting the JHS Red Remote (sold separately) to control the A/B toggle remotely.

Ịnye ọkụ:

The JHS Switchback requires a standard 9V DC power supply (center negative). Ensure you use a compatible power supply to prevent damage to the unit.

Operating the Switchback

The JHS Switchback offers multiple operational modes, providing extensive control over your signal path.

Footswitch Functionality:

  • The main footswitch engages or bypasses the entire Switchback unit. When bypassed, your signal passes through unaffected (true bypass).
  • The A/B toggle switch (or connected Red Remote) selects between Loop 1 and Loop 2.

Ụdị arụ ọrụ:

  • A/B True Bypass Looper: Place different effects chains in Loop 1 and Loop 2. Use the A/B toggle to instantly switch between these two distinct effects setups.
  • Simple True Bypass Looper: Use one loop to engage a single effect or a chain of effects, while the other loop remains empty for a clean bypass.
  • A/B Box: Connect two different instruments to the 'GUITAR' input and 'RETURN 1' (or 'RETURN 2') and switch between them, sending the selected instrument to the 'AMP' output. Alternatively, connect one instrument to 'GUITAR' and send its signal to two different amplifiers connected to 'AMP' and 'SEND 1' (or 'SEND 2'), switching between the amps.
  • Amp Input Switcher: Use the Switchback to switch between two different inputs on a single amplifier, or between two different amplifiers entirely.
  • Effects Loop A/B: Integrate the Switchback into your amplifier's effects loop (Send/Return jacks) to switch between different effects chains or to use it as a master volume control for your amp's power section.

Using as a Master Volume:

One of the most useful applications of the Switchback is as a master volume control for high-wattage amplifiers, allowing you to achieve desirable tones at lower volumes without an attenuator. Connect your amplifier's effects loop 'SEND' to the Switchback's 'GUITAR' input, and the Switchback's 'AMP' output to your amplifier's effects loop 'RETURN'. The volume knob on the Switchback will then act as a master volume for your amp's power section.

Nlekọta

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your JHS Switchback, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Nhicha: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or internal components.
  • Nchekwa: Store the pedal in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Disconnect all cables when not in use for extended periods.
  • Ike: Always use the specified 9V DC center-negative power supply. Incorrect power can damage the unit and void the warranty.
  • Ijikwa: Handle the pedal with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to excessive force, which can damage the enclosure or internal circuitry.

If you encounter issues with your JHS Switchback, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Enweghị ụda:
    • Check all cable connections to ensure they are secure and correctly plugged into the appropriate jacks.
    • Verify that your instrument, amplifier, and any other pedals in the chain are powered on and functioning correctly.
    • Ensure the Switchback's main footswitch is engaged (LED lit) if you intend to use the loops.
    • If using effects loops, ensure the effects pedals within the loops are powered and engaged.
  • Signal Loss/Weak Signal:
    • Inspect all patch cables for damage or faulty connections. Try swapping cables to isolate the issue.
    • Test the Switchback in true bypass mode (main footswitch disengaged) to see if the signal passes through cleanly. If it does, the issue might be within one of the active loops.
  • Mkpọtụ/Ukwe A Na-achọghị:
    • Ensure you are using a high-quality, isolated 9V DC power supply. Daisy-chaining power with other pedals can sometimes introduce noise.
    • Check for ground loops. Try connecting your equipment to a single power strip.
    • Ensure all cables are properly shielded and not running parallel to power cables.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact JHS Pedals customer support for further assistance.
