This manual provides essential instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Vtech VT685SE DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Phone. The VT685SE is a fixed-line telephone system featuring DECT 6.0 digital technology for clear communication, Caller ID, a built-in speakerphone, and an integrated answering machine. Please read this manual thoroughly before using your new phone.

- Plug the small end of the AC power adapter into the power jack on the back of the base unit.
- Plug the large end of the AC power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
- Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base unit.
- Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into a telephone wall jack.

Place the handset on the base unit with the display facing forward. The CHARGE light on the base unit should illuminate, indicating proper charging. Allow the handset to charge for at least 16 hours before initial use to ensure full battery capacity.

If you subscribe to Caller ID service, the caller's name and number will appear on the handset display after the first ring. You can review the Caller ID log by pressing the CID button (often combined with the UP akụ).

Your phone includes a digital answering machine. The answering machine will automatically answer calls after a preset number of rings and allow callers to leave a message.
