1. Unboxing and Power Connection
Carefully remove the Echo Dot and its accessories from the packaging. Connect the included EU power adapter to the Echo Dot and then plug it into a wall outlet. The light ring on the Echo Dot will turn blue, then orange, indicating it is ready for setup.

The Echo Dot is primarily operated using voice commands through the Alexa Voice Service. Simply say the wake word "Alexa" followed by your command or question.
Voice Control and Microphones
The Echo Dot features seven far-field microphones, allowing it to hear your voice commands from across the room, even in noisy environments or while music is playing. The light ring indicates when Alexa is listening or processing a request.
