5.1. Professional Programming Process Overview
When taking your key fob to a professional, they will typically perform the following steps:
- The technician will connect a diagnostic tool to your vehicle's OBD-II port.
- Using the diagnostic tool, they will access the vehicle's computer system to initiate the key programming sequence.
- Your new key fob will be registered with the vehicle's immobilizer system.
- The physical key blade will be cut to match your vehicle's ignition.
