3.1 Connecting the Hard Drive
- Locate the SuperSpeed USB cable provided in the package.
- Connect the smaller end of the USB cable to the USB 3.0 port on the Verbatim Store'n'Go Portable Hard Drive.
- Connect the larger end of the USB cable to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer (PC or Mac). If a USB 3.0 port is not available, you can use a USB 2.0 port, but data transfer speeds will be reduced.
- The hard drive will be automatically detected by your operating system. A small LED indicator on the drive will illuminate when connected and powered.

3.2 Initial Use and Formatting
The drive comes pre-formatted with FAT32, making it compatible with both Windows PC and Mac systems out of the box. For optimal performance or specific operating system requirements, you may reformat the drive to NTFS (for Windows) or HFS+ (for Mac). Refer to your operating system's documentation for instructions on how to format a drive.
