Proper fitting is crucial for effective respiratory protection. Follow these steps to ensure a secure and comfortable fit:
- Place respirator over mouth and nose: Position the face-piece low on the bridge of your nose for optimal visibility and best fit.

Figure 3.1: Initial placement of the respirator.
- Pull harness over the crown of your head: Ensure the top straps are positioned correctly.

Figure 3.2: Positioning the head harness.
- Adjust straps: Take bottom straps in both hands, place them in back of your neck, and hook them together. Adjust top straps first, then lower neck straps by pulling on ends. Do not pull too tight. Strap tension can be decreased by pushing out on back side of buckles.

4. Operating and Seal Check
After fitting the respirator, perform a positive pressure seal check to ensure no air leakage:
- Perform a positive pressure seal check: Place the palm of your hand over the exhalation valve cover and exhale gently. If the face-piece bulges slightly and no air leaks are detected between your face and the face-piece, a proper fit has been obtained.

Figure 4.1: Performing a positive pressure seal check.
- Adjust if leakage occurs: If air leakage is detected, reposition the respirator on your face and/or readjust the tension of the elastic straps. Repeat the seal check until no leakage is detected.
- Repeat until tight seal: Repeat the above steps until a tight seal is obtained.
