Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating this gas-powered trimmer. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death.

Follow these steps to assemble your PRORUN Straight Shaft Trimmer.

3.1 Attaching the Deflector Shield

  1. Align the deflector shield with the mounting holes on the trimmer shaft.
  2. Secure the shield using the provided screws and tighten them firmly with a screwdriver. Ensure the shield is stable and does not wobble.

3.2 Installing the Loop Handle

  1. Slide the adjustable loop handle onto the trimmer shaft.
  2. Position the handle for comfortable operation, typically around the middle of the shaft.

4. Setup and Fueling

Proper fuel mixture and starting procedures are crucial for optimal performance and longevity.

4.1 Fuel Mixing

This trimmer uses a 2-cycle engine and requires a mixture of gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil. Refer to the engine oil manufacturer's instructions for the correct mixing ratio, typically 50:1 (2.6 oz of oil per gallon of gasoline) or 40:1 (3.2 oz of oil per gallon of gasoline).

Learn how to start, operate, and stop your PRORUN trimmer safely and effectively.

5.1 Starting the Engine (Spring-Assist Starting)

  1. Place the trimmer on a flat, clear surface.

  3. Press the primer bulb 7-10 times until fuel is visible in the return line.
  4. Move the choke lever to the 'FULL CHOKE' position.
  5. Pull the starter rope slowly until resistance is felt, then pull quickly and firmly 1-3 times until the engine 'pops' or attempts to start.
  6. Move the choke lever to the 'HALF CHOKE' position.
  7. Pull the starter rope quickly and firmly 1-3 times until the engine starts.
  8. Once the engine runs, move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position. Allow the engine to warm up for 30-60 seconds before operating at full throttle.

  • Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands, ensuring a balanced stance.
  • Use the shoulder harness for added comfort and control, especially during extended use.
  • Maintain a safe distance from objects and bystanders.
  • Cut grass by swinging the trimmer from side to side, using the tip of the cutting line.
  • For edging, tilt the trimmer head to a vertical position and carefully guide it along the edge.

5.3 Ịkwụsị Engine

To stop the engine, simply move the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your trimmer.

The air filter should be checked and cleaned regularly, especially in dusty conditions.

  3. Remove any remaining old line.
  4. Cut a new length of .095-inch trimmer line (typically 15-20 feet).
  5. Follow the arrows on the trimmer head to correctly wind the new line onto the spool. Leave a few inches of line protruding from the eyelets.
  6. Reassemble the trimmer head.
