5.2 Njikọ netwọkụ

The MR18 offers three modes for network connectivity, selected via the "Remote Control" switch on the rear panel:

  • Access Point (AP): The MR18 creates its own Wi-Fi network. This is ideal for direct control from a tablet or laptop without an external router.
  • Wi-Fi Client: The MR18 connects to an existing Wi-Fi network. This allows control from devices already on that network and can provide internet access to the mixer (for firmware updates, etc.).
  • Ethernet: Connect the MR18 directly to a computer or an external router via an Ethernet cable for a stable wired connection.

For detailed instructions on configuring each network mode, refer to the full software manual available on the MIDAS websaịtị.

5.3 Tablet/Computer Connection

Download and install the appropriate control application for your device:

Once installed, launch the application and connect to your MR18 via the configured network connection.

6. Operating the MR18

The MR18 is controlled entirely through its dedicated software application. This section provides a general overview of key operational aspects.

6.1 Basic Arụmọrụ

  • Channel Strips: Each input channel in the software provides controls for gain, phantom power, EQ, dynamics (gate/compressor), and routing.
  • Ngwakọta: Adjust faders for individual channels and master outputs. Create auxiliary mixes for monitors or effects sends.
  • Mmetụta: The MR18 includes a virtual effects rack with various reverbs, delays, and modulation effects.

6.2 Ntinye / mmepụta nhazi

The software allows flexible routing of inputs to channels and outputs. You can assign physical inputs to any processing channel and route any mix bus or channel to the physical outputs.

6.3 Recording via USB

The MR18 features an 18x18 channel bidirectional USB2.0 audio interface. This allows you to record all 18 input channels directly to a connected computer (DAW software required) or play back 18 channels from your computer through the mixer.

Vidio 6.1: An instructional video demonstrating the recording capabilities and USB audio interface features of the MIDAS MR18. This video provides a visual guide to setting up and utilizing the multi-channel USB audio for studio or live recording.

Vidio 6.2: A short video tutorial explaining how to configure and use the MIDAS MR18's USB audio interface for recording and playback with a digital audio workstation (DAW).

6.4 Dugan-style Auto-Mixing

The MR18 incorporates Dugan-style auto-mixing, which automatically manages microphone gain sharing. This feature is particularly useful in multi-microphone setups (e.g., panel discussions, conferences) to reduce feedback and improve clarity by automatically attenuating unused microphones and boosting active ones.
