3.1. Advanced Protection Technologies

  • Usoro Multi-Stage Protection (SMP): Furman's SMP circuit provides superior surge suppression, absorbing and dissipating damaging transient voltages without sacrificing itself. This ensures continuous protection for your equipment.
  • Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT): LiFT significantly reduces AC line noise across a wide frequency range, delivering cleaner power to your sensitive electronics. This results in improved audio clarity and video resolution.
  • Oke Voltage Shutdown (EVS): The EVS circuit continuously monitors incoming voltage. If it detects an unsafe overvoltage condition (exceeding 137 volts), it automatically shuts down the connected equipment to prevent damage, then restores power once voltage na-alaghachi na ọkwa nchekwa.

3.2. Outlets and Power

  • Mgbakọta ọnụ ahịa: 9 (1 front-panel convenience outlet, 8 rear-panel outlets).
  • Rear Outlets: Ejiri ya rụọ ya ample spacing to accommodate 'wall wart' power supplies and feature security strapping to prevent accidental disconnections.
  • eriri ike: Integrated 10-foot, 12-gauge power cord.
  • Ampafọ: 20-amp capacity, requiring a 20-amp female receptacle or a Furman ADP-1520B adapter for connection.

3.3. Akụkụ ndị ọzọ

  • Njikọ BNC: A BNC connector is located on the rear panel for optional GN-LED or GN-I gooseneck lights (sold separately) to illuminate the rear of your rack.
  • Nhazi nke Rack-Mountable: Standard 1U rack-mount chassis for easy integration into professional setups.

4. Ntọala na nwụnye

4.1. Nkwanye rack

The P-8 PRO C is designed for standard 1U rack installation. Secure the unit using appropriate rack screws (not included) through the mounting ears on both sides of the front panel. Ensure sufficient space for ventilation.

4.2. Njikọ ike

  1. Connect the integrated 10-foot, 12-gauge power cord from the P-8 PRO C to a dedicated 20-amp, 120-volt AC grounded electrical outlet. If a 20-amp receptacle is not available, use a Furman ADP-1520B adapter.
  2. Ensure the main power switch on the front panel of the P-8 PRO C is in the OFF position before connecting any equipment.

4.3. Ngwa njikọ

Plug your audio, video, or electronic equipment into the 8 rear-panel outlets and the 1 front-panel convenience outlet. Utilize the wide spacing of the rear outlets for larger power adapters. For critical equipment, consider using the security strapping to prevent accidental unplugging.

5. Ọrụ

5.1. Ịgbanye / gbanyụọ

Once all equipment is connected, flip the main power switch on the front panel to the ON position. The P-8 PRO C will power on, and connected equipment will receive conditioned and protected power.

5.2. Ihe ngosi ọkụ

  • Protection OK (Green LED): This indicator illuminates green when the SMP circuit is active and providing surge protection. If this light is off, the unit's surge protection has been compromised, and the unit should be serviced.
  • Oke Voltage (Red LED): This indicator illuminates red when the incoming voltage exceeds safe operating levels (above 137 volts). The EVS circuit will shut down power to connected equipment until the voltage returns to a safe range.

6. Nlekọta

The Furman P-8 PRO C is designed for reliable, maintenance-free operation. No user-serviceable parts are inside. For cleaning, disconnect the unit from the power source and wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7. Nchọpụta nsogbu

7.1. No Power to Outlets

  • Check the main power switch on the front panel to ensure it is in the ON position.
  • Verify that the P-8 PRO C is securely plugged into a functioning 20-amp mgbidi ntinye.
  • Check the circuit breaker on the P-8 PRO C (usually located near the power cord input) and reset if tripped.
  • If the 'Extreme Voltage' indicator is lit, the incoming voltage is too high. The unit will automatically restore power when conditions normalize.
  • If the 'Protection OK' indicator is off, the surge protection circuit may be compromised. Discontinue use and contact Furman support.
