Your Citizen Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Before initial use or if the watch has stopped, it requires sufficient charging. Expose the watch dial to a light source (natural or artificial) to charge it. The second hand will indicate the charge status.

- Insufficient Charge Warning: If the charge becomes insufficient during normal time display, the second hand will point to 'CHARGE'.
- Stopped Status: If the watch is left without charging, it will stop, and the second hand will point to 'STOP'.
- Ịchaji: When charging the watch by subjecting it to light, the second hand will move from 'STOP' to 'SET' position. Continue charging until the second hand moves to 'SET' (approximately 30 minutes or more in bright light).

The perpetual calendar in this watch automatically adjusts for odd and even months, including leap years, until February 28, 2100. Follow these steps to set the time and calendar:

- Rotate the crown to adjust the hand/indication. The hour, minute, and 24-hour hands move synchronously. Check whether the time is AM or PM with the 24-hour hand. When you rotate the crown quickly a few times, the hand/indication will move continuously. To stop the rapid movement, rotate the crown in either direction. Year is indicated by the function hand and month by the second hand.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all settings are correct.
