1. Preparing the Transmitter

- Move the receiver slowly along the suspected path. The signal will decrease as you move away from the wire and increase as you move closer.
- To pinpoint the exact location, sweep the receiver from side to side. The peak signal indicates the wire's position.


3. Pinpointing Valves (Hotspot Signal Detection)
When tracing a wire, a significant increase in signal strength, often accompanied by a distinct change in tone, indicates the presence of a valve solenoid. This "hotspot" signal allows for precise valve location.
- As you trace the wire, pay close attention to sudden increases in signal intensity.
- Once a hotspot is detected, move the receiver in a small circular or grid pattern around the area to find the exact center of the strongest signal. This will be the location of the valve.
